Child Custody Mediation The majority of parents whose marriages end in divorce are people who love their children more than anything. The nature of marital conflict, however, can result in parents expressing their love for their children in ways that provoke disagreement. It is entirely possible for both parents to believe that they love their children perfectly, while also believing that their divorcing spouse’s love for their children is all wrong. AMS Mediation provides child custody mediation that allows both parents to see their relationships more clearly and develop a greater sense of understanding of their divorcing spouse’s perspective.

Child Custody Mediation Puts Your Kids First

When you seek the help of a divorce mediator, you will understand very soon that you have more options in the mediation process than you likely would have had if you had followed the traditional path through the court system. No matter what system you choose to pursue your divorce, if you have children, you do not have the option of placing them down on the list of your priorities. All courts and all divorce mediators prioritize the health, safety, and overall well-being of your children. In that regard, AMS Mediation is no different than other mediation services. We are committed to using our knowledge of Minnesota divorce law and the conventions of excellent mediation to ensure that your children are prioritized in the divorce process.

Custody Agreement Both Parents Can Live With

If you and your divorcing spouse already have a good sense of how you would like to craft your child custody agreement, we can help make the process smoother. If there are issues that require resolution before a child custody agreement is reached, we will use our experience and mediation skills to work with you to ensure that your children are properly cared for. More often than not, disagreements that exist between divorcing parents are relatively easy for us to identify. Most of those disagreements come from the parents’ love for their children. If common ground can be found, we will find it no matter how much conflict exists. The mediation process is an excellent means of helping divorcing parents empathize with their divorcing spouse, and when empathy is achieved, the process of designing a custody agreement that both parents can live with, and which protects the best interests of your children, is within reach.
