As with any difficult, complicated or emotional task, getting started is often the hardest part.  You can easily feel overwhelmed by the daunting task ahead and convince yourself to procrastinate and put off the inevitable.  Settling a divorce is no different.  There are so many things to consider and an entirely different life ahead, one that you may not have chosen.  If you have made the decision to divorce, but are struggling with how to get started, AMS Mediation of Burnsville, MN can help.  Amber Serwat brings her personal experience to the table and can help you navigate the process with less stress so that you can move forward in a positive direction.

Initial Consultation With A Mediator

Divorce is never easy, but with strong support and guidance from loved ones and professionals, you and your divorcing spouse can get through it in a healthy way.  The first step once you have decided to use mediation to settle your divorce is to set up a time for a free one hour consultation. One of the most important things to think about in this initial consultation is whether you and your divorcing spouse feel the mediator is a good fit for your situation.  You should feel empowered to ask any and all questions that you have and learn about the entire process, from start to finish.  Another benefit in meeting with one or more mediators is that you and your divorcing spouse can receive information at the same time and you get a preview of what it feels like to have a discussion in the presence of a neutral mediator.

Divorce Mediation Considerations

AMS Mediation offers free one hour consultations to potential clients to provide you with detailed information about the divorce mediation steps and how the divorce mediation process could work in your unique situation.  If you decide to move forward with AMS Mediation, you will receive specific instructions about what you need to do to prepare for your mediation sessions and a sense of the costs associated with your specific case.  You can then schedule a convenient time for your first working session.

The idea of embarking on a divorce can be overwhelming and difficult. AMS Mediation can help you take the mediation process one step at a time so that you can begin to see the steps to take to move forward.  Our team can help you every step of the way.  Call AMS Mediation today at 952-252-1492 to get started.
