Being an educated consumer of divorce services is the first step to success.

I believe, the divorce process you choose (for example, mediation vs. litigation) is the most significant factor in determining the degree of suffering you are likely to endure…the more adversarial the process, the more difficult the challenge.  For that reason, you need to be thoughtful about the professionals you hire.  Phone interviews and consultations are excellent ways to find the best process and professionals for your situation. Just because you may need a lawyer doesn’t mean you need to hire a “pit bull”…more and more attorneys are turning to mediation and other cooperative approaches to divorce settlement.  Although using mediation may alleviate some of the most extreme negative impacts; divorce is never easy.  Even under the best of circumstances, going through a divorce is one of life’s most difficult challenges – both emotionally and financially.
